Practice Areas

Mr. Hales concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, with an emphasis on eminent domain, municipal representation, insurance defense, construction defect, and contract disputes.  Mr. Hales has expertise in litigating employment discrimination and civil rights claims and also has extensive experience in consumer and non-consumer bankruptcy litigations and proceedings.

Legal Experience

Mr. Hales is an associate in the Firm's litigation practice group, and a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois. Mr. Hales' practice centers on eminent domain, construction defect, contract litigation, insurance defense and municipal representation. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Hales garnered extensive litigation experience in handling a wide range of bankruptcy litigations, variously as an advocate on behalf of consumers, corporate debtors and corporate creditors. Mr. Hales has also extensively litigated bankruptcy matters on behalf of trustees appointed by the United States Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois.
