Mark S. Jamil is a partner in the firm's transaction practice group. His practice concentrates on the areas of governmental affairs, corporate governance, employment and labor disputes, education law, municipal law, and complex commercial and real estate transactions involving both public and private sectors. Mr. Jamil provides general counsel legal services involving real estate, education matters, employment and labor matters, lending transactions, asset-based financings, zoning, land use, commercial contracts, procurement, and licensing and/or regulatory matters on behalf of governmental entities, not-for-profit organizations, and various corporate clients. He also has rendered legal counsel in commercial transactions and licensing matters involving real estate, real estate tax incentives, and various state and municipal regulations.

Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Mr. Jamil was Chief Legal Counsel for the Illinois Medical District Commission for more than six years, where he acquired significant experience in real estate, commercial leasing and financial transactions, land acquisition, zoning, procurement, employment, board governance, and Illinois Open Meetings Act issues. He negotiated several public-private transactions involving large-scale commercial projects, including the construction of a fixed-base operation and landing facility for helicopters serving both private and public sectors. Mr. Jamil also served for more than 10 years with the City of Chicago, Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection, in a number of legal and leadership positions, including Deputy Commissioner of Public Vehicle Operations, which regulates the City of Chicago's taxicab industry.
